A Research on our PBL

Research on NZ Olympic uniform

In the first ever Olympics in London 1908, New Zealand was  joined with Australia to make a team called Australasia. Their uniform was white shorts, t-shirts and singlets with Australasia written on them and a hat. 1467165666382.jpg
The Designers of the NZ Olympic 2016 are uniforms  Shane Hansen, Danica Lo,Ralph Lauren, H&M, Lacoste.

Nastia Liukin remembers her first leotard like it was yesterday. "It was long-sleeved, and the sleeves were black. The body was a mixture of purple, pink, and blue, with geometric designs," the 2008 All-Around Olympic champion says, adding, "Let’s just say we’ve come a long way in the leotard design world.
When the Opening Ceremony uniforms were unveiled by USA Today, Ralph Lauren said that all parts of the uniform were made in the U.S., despite how complicated it was to make the uniforms for all 1,100 Olympics and Paralympics athletes. SPORTS RIO OLYMPICS.

Making olympic uniform

I made a olympic uniform in my class for the next 2024 olympic games for New zealand. And I made it for  Paora winitana because he plays basketball really good.
Why:
I wanted to make the Olympic uniform because I like to investigate Olympic uniform so I decided to make it for my PBL (Project Based Learning)

After researching about the olympic uniforms we started making a uniform. This is how to make a Olympic uniform for yourself

       What you need:
  • Pattern
  • Fabric
  • Needles
  • Thread
  • Vivid
  • Scissor

       How to make

  • First make a pattern which is on a piece of paper that shows your measurements
  • Next find a fabric then paste the pattern on top of the fabric.
  • Then you cut out the fabric with the pattern on top of the fabric.
  • Then sew it together

    Reflection:

I felt excited when it was time to sew because it's fun and Janice and I  learned it from the office lady when it was the Matariki day.
I use my Perseverance muscle when I was sewing my T-shirt . I did my personal best at doing my PBL.
When I was finished doing my PBL I felt proud and tired  after all that work I’ve done.

                         P.E Reflection
"My reflection was that Ruby was good at teaching Lake, Jamie and I, and when we were playing Blind throw I got three red shots and Jamie got two yellows, one green and one red.

The red was six, the green was nine and the yellow was 13.

Mostly we had to call our teams countrys and our country was China and Ruby and Lake were Great Britain.

Jamie and I won and the looser was Ruby and Lake.

I only Know the total for Jamie and I but not Lake and Ruby. so we got 53.

How to play:First you have to get a chair and three hoola hoops.

Next you have to turn the chairs backwards and get three bean bags the winner is the person how has the most points.

How have the learning muscles helped you with your learning in Maths and/or Literacy and in one other learning area for example Matariki, P.E, Art or Camp?

  • No bling
  • Options = Maths & Literacy plus one other listed
  • Maths or Literacy plus one other listed (e.g. maths and your choice; literacy and your choice)

The learning muscles helped me with Math and at camp.
For Maths it was really hard at the start but then I heard that we should question our buddy and then I started to understand.
Camp- For camp I did not know what to do there like what bed am I but then somebody showed me what to do and who to sleep with and then I saw signs up on the doors and walls like who and where to sleep in and I was with Henry's mum, Mrs Lowe, Chaahat and janice.
Literacy- In writing I am learning to use my managing distractions muscle so that I focus on my writing.

How a vehicle goes

                      How a vehicle goes
A vehicle is transportation. A car is a vehicle and takes us from place to another.

First. A car has wheels that  turn around and around and is controlled by the driver who turns the steering wheel.

A steering wheel is a circle shape which makes it easier to turn the  direction you want to go.

Next.  The roof is to make sure when the rain comes and you want to go somewhere you don’t get wet so you put it over before you go. Windows do make sure no bugs go in you’re face so you don’t get disturb from the bugs while you’re driving.

Handles on the door make sure you can get in the vehicle. A boot is something that holds things you want to put.

Finally, a vehicle is important to people because if you want to go somewhere and it is a long distance and a vehicle can take you there quickly.
